What am I supposed to eat? ....is the most common question I get when I do nutritional consultations and lectures. Although the following are some very good basics, how would you know more specifically how YOU should be eating...

The Basics.....
1. Cut out refined, man-made & processed carbohydrates (sugar, high fructose corn syrup, Agave nectar, fructose, sucrose, glucose, bread, white rice, pasta, etc)
2. Cut out all man made fats such as Trans fats (hydrogenated & partially hydrogenated oil) and the the trans fat's new and more evil cousin, Interesterified fat
3. drink plenty of water.
4. Eat fruit, not fruit juice
5. Eat veggies, lots of fresh and 80% raw.
6. Eat only clean natural sources of animal proteins (wild fish, free range organic poultry and grass-fed beef)
7. Exercise 5-7 days per week for at least 30 minutes.

Now that's well and good, but most people want something more specific. Something tailored just for them. How much do I eat? What foods? And in what ratios to each other? Etc...
Well, check out Dr. Mercola's new Nutritional Typing survey. Answer a series of questions about your diet and how you feel and get placed in one of 3 basic nutritional categories or nutritional "types". Depending on your physiology and how you react to foods, the type of food and the amounts of those foods will be different.
